Miriam Sagasti

Miriam Sagasti is a Peruvian-American artist who resides in Chapel Hill. She came to the United States in 1978 and lived for 16 years in the Washington D.C area where she exhibited her photography, enameling, and watercolor works. She is a member of the Orange County Artists Guild and the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators.

In the last 12 years she has illustrated children’s books for several publishers. She has also illustrated Hopscotch and Boy’s Quest magazines, and jig saw puzzles for Great American Puzzle Factory and Carson Dellosa, among others.

Miriam is also doing botanical illustrations and paintings of nature and landscapes. Her preferred media are watercolors and colored pencils.

Her work was included in the Bologna International Book Fair in Bologna, Italy in 1994 and in group and individual shows in North Carolina, Virginia, Washington D.C, Maryland and Lima, Peru.
